Rafa Mir, former Wolves striker, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.Mir, who joined Wolves from Valencia in 2018 and returned to the Spanish club on loan from Sevilla in July, was the focus of reports in Spanish media on Tuesday.
Later on Tuesday, Spanish police announced that the 27-year-old forward had been arrested.According to a representative for the Spanish Civil Guard police organisation, “He is under arrest for alleged sexual assault.” Valencia also posted a statement on their website, confirming that they are aware of the arrest.
It stated: “In regards to the news claims that have arisen regarding the arrest of Valencia CF player Rafa Mir, the Club is aware of said arrest and, in the absence of specifics
For the time being, it can only say that it will comply in whatever way that justice requires.The striker joined Molineux in 2018 for an undisclosed price, after being linked with a move to Real Madrid.However, he only made four appearances for the club and endured three loan spells, one of which was with Nottingham Forest.
In 2021, he left Wolves permanently to join Sevilla for £13.7 million.
