The latest blockbuster contract from a former Tide standout went to cornerback Patrick Surtain, who has become one of the best in the NFL at his position with Denver. As a result, the Broncos offered him a four-year, $96 million contract extension to keep him around for the long term.
Seeing all of these talents flourish and be compensated at the next level is one of the primary reasons why the Alabama brand has become as large as it is over the years. New head coach Kalen DeBoer will surely use these numbers as a recruiting tool just as his predecessor did for so many years.
