Brighton & Hove Albion signed 30 years old Man Utd star on Women’s Super League deadline day

As Nikita Parris from Manchester United joins Brighton & Hove Albion for the next Women’s Super League season, the team has made yet another bold declaration of purpose. Parris teams up with Fran Kirby, another England Lioness, on the south coast as Dario Vidosic’s team looks to fight higher in the standings this season following a ninth-place showing the previous year.
After acquiring Fran Kirby, Brighton & Hove Albion signed Manchester United’s Nikita Parris on a deadline-day deal.
In yet another major marquee signing for the Sussex squad, the 30-year-old has agreed to a contract with Brighton to join her England Lionesses teammate on the south coast.

Head coach of the women’s first squad Dario Vidosic stated on the club website: “We’re thrilled to have a player of Nikita’s caliber and background join the team. It conveys our club’s aspirations.Nikita has a proven track record of scoring goals, so that will be a big boost to us.
“Her extensive experience makes her a great role model, especially for our younger players.” We are excited to begin training with her in front of our first WSL match against Everton on Saturday. She is eager to dive into a new challenge.
In order to get paid for the 30-year-old Parris, who will now continue her club career on the south coast, United activated her option to extend her contract by an additional year.

After Brighton’s best scorer from the previous campaign, Elisabeth Terland, relocated to the northwest earlier in the transfer window, this is the two clubs’ second summer transfer.
Parris competed for Team GB in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and was a member of the England team that won the 2022 European Championship. She has also won the Arnold Clark Cup in 2022 and the SheBelieves Cup in 2019.
She made her debut against Serbia in June 2016 and has since earned 71 caps and 17 goals for her nation.
The attacker started her career with Everton and later played for Manchester City, Lyon, and Arsenal.

She has one Women’s Super League championship, three Women’s FA Cups, and two WSL Cups to her credit in terms of club honors.

English football’s history Parris also experienced success on the continent when playing with Lyon, where she won the 2020 Women’s Champions League in addition to winning local league and cup competitions while residing in France.

On September 21, Brighton kicks off their WSL campaign against Everton. This will be Vidosic’s first season as manager.
