Former Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons finished Week 2 with a Monday Night Football victory over the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to a last-minute touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins. The Texas Longhorns alumni did not have a successful Week 2 in the National Football League.
Bijan Robinson’s Atlanta Falcons defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21 on Monday Night Football, thanks to a last-minute touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to Drake London. Robinson had 97 yards on 14 carries.
The kickers had the best day. Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens and Cameron Dicker of the Los Angeles Chargers had above-average performances for their respective teams. Tucker went 3-for-4 on field goals and scored 11 points. The Ravens lost by three points. Tucker’s error proved expensive.
Dicker was 2 for 2 on field goals but missed one of his three extra points. The failed extra point did not cost his team, which defeated the Carolina Panthers 26-3.
Wide receiver Xavier Worthy of the Kansas City Chiefs caught two catches from Patrick Mahomes for 17 yards and no touchdowns. He also had one carry of five yards.
Adonai Mitchell caught one pass for 30 yards for the Indianapolis Colts. Quarterback Anthony Richardson targeted him four times. Former Longhorn quarterback Sam Ehrlinger saw no action for the Colts in their 16-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Denver Broncos, led by wide receiver Lil’ Jordan Humphrey, fell 13-6 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Humphrey made four receptions for 50 yards on five targets. His longest distance of the day was 27 yards.
Tight end The Panthers’ Ja’Tavion Sanders caught two catches for eight yards in their loss against the Chargers.
