Caitlin Clark, a rookie for the Indiana Fever, isn’t the only one succeeding these days. On September 16, her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, was named Butler’s men’s basketball team’s new assistant coach. McCaffery, who was formerly the Indiana Pacers’ basketball development coordinator, has a fantastic opportunity to advance his career alongside Clark’s impressive rise. Naturally, the Fever actress shared her excitement on her Instagram Story upon learning of her boyfriend’s most recent success. NBA stars, such as TJ McConnell of the Pacers, complimented McCaffery as well. With a salute emoji, he shared Butler’s statement on his Instagram Story.

Following his resignation, former NBA center Greg Oden will be replaced by McCaffery. Oden played with the Bulldogs for just two years. The 26-year-old McCaffery will be a part of a legendary program that has produced players in the NBA, including Kelan Martin, Shelvin Mack, and Gordon Hayward. Butler has participated in the NCAA Tournament sixteen times.
Three-time Big Ten Coach of the Year Thad Matta, an experienced mentor, will instruct him. “He (McCaffery) obviously comes from a basketball family that I know very well and I’m excited for the impact he is going to have on our program both quickly and in the long run,” said Matta in a statement issued by Butler.
