LATEST UPDATE : Birmingham City boss sends blunt message to Wrexham’s A-list guests

Birmingham City’s boss has given a stern message to the A-listers in attendance for the 3-1 victory over Wrexham.
Chris Davies didn’t care whether superstar guests Tom Brady, Rob McElhenney, and David Beckham were watching as Blues defeated Wrexham on Monday night.

The Birmingham head coach is thrilled with the media and attention around the football team, but he is unconcerned about the presence of celebrities at matches. It’s a different story for Brady, of course, given his partial ownership of the club, but Davies ignores any other special guests – or the fanfare around their appearance.

“I really don’t pay any attention to that stuff, I’ve got no idea what was going on or who was going to be here because that’s not my domain,” Davies stated during the post-match press conference. “What matters is what happens on the pitch and how we approach the game during training. I’m glad the club has received the attention it deserves, but all of that stuff isn’t really interesting to me.” It was easy for Davies to dismiss all of the Hollywood-centric hype around the game, but it would never be as simple for the players. With so much hype and social media trends centered on the game, it was inevitable that members of Birmingham’s teamBirmingham City manager's blunt message to A-lister Wrexham guests

Would take notice.

“I discussed with the players that there was something going on, but that is not our domain; our domain is the pitch and what we do. “It’s about focusing on the performance, and the outside world is irrelevant to us,” Davies said. “It is true that they will follow social media and be aware of the attention and buzz around the game, but I did not notice any change in focus or pressure. As I already stated, it improved us since it was our best overall performance of the season,” Davies added.
