JUST IN : Former Cincinnati Bengals second-round pick joins Miami Dolphins

Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Jackson Carman was signed to the Miami Dolphins‘ practice squad.

The Dolphins officially announced the move on Tuesday. To make room, they released veteran wide receiver Robbie Chosen (formerly known as Robbie Anderson) from the practice squad.

Carman was a second-round pick by the Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had an illustrious college career at Clemson, in which he won the National Championship (2018) and was a first-team All-ACC selection (2020).

As a rookie, Carman appeared in all 17 games, making six starts at right guard. In 462 offensive snaps, he did not allow a sack. However, he posted five penalties and a disappointing 56.3 PFF grade.

After his rookie campaign, Carman saw his role dramatically reduced. He played only 16 combined offensive snaps over his next two seasons.

With injuries to offensive tackle Jonah Williams and guard Alex Cappa, Carman got the opportunity to start two playoff games at the end of the 2022 season, including the AFC Championship.

Entering the 2024 season, Carman competed for a backup offensive tackle spot. Ultimately, he did not make the 53-man roster and was waived.

Now, the 24-year-old will get another opportunity in Miami. It has been three years since he has received consistent playing time. In another situation, he may be able to reach his draft day potential.
