Officers were called to Westgate in Bradford on Saturday afternoon after receiving reports that a woman had been stabbed by a man who then fled the scene. A woman died after being stabbed in Bradford’s city core.
According to West Yorkshire Police, the “shocking incident” occurred in “broad daylight in a busy area” on Saturday and was witnessed by several people.
Officers were called to Westgate in Bradford at 3.21pm after reports of a woman being stabbed by a male who then fled the scene.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The victim has yet to be properly identified, but is believed to be 27 years old.
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson believes the victim knew the suspect.
She went further: “We know that this incident will understandably cause concern in the local community and I would like to reassure the wider public that we are working tirelessly to investigate this horrendous crime and bring the person responsible to justice.”
Police have issued an appeal for information, urging anyone in the vicinity who has dashcam footage or witnessed the event to come forward.
