JUST IN : Free agent training with Rotherham United following Wrexham exit

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has confirmed that Callum McFadzean is training with them following his departure from Wrexham.
Rotherham United, on the other hand, has no intention of signing him and is only doing him a courtesy by assisting him in maintaining his fitness levels while looking for a new club. He became a free agent in late June and has since considered his possibilities in the game. McFadzean, 30, spent little over two years with Wrexham, where he helped the club achieve back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One. However, they decided not to extend his stay in Wales this past summer.

In this most recent update on his future, the Millers’ manager Evans has said,

McFadzean joined Rotherham United as a free agent after starting his career with Sheffield United.

He climbed through the South Yorkshire club’s youth ranks and went on to play 23 first-team games as a youngster, as well as loan spells at Chesterfield, Burton Albion, and Stevenage to gain experience. The full-back departed Bramall Lane permanently in 2016, and has since played for Kilmarnock, Alfreton Town, Guiseley, Bury, Plymouth Argyle, Sunderland, and Crewe Alexandra. Wrexham signed him in 2021 and he played 42 games in the fifth tier.

However, his playing time in the Football League considerably decreased, and he was employed as a backup.

McFadzean has previously played for a variety of teams and could benefit from establishing roots again. His training at Rotherham United will help him get back on track as he seeks employment.

The Millers have made a poor start to the new season, sitting in 21st place after losing to Birmingham City last time out.
