Rebecca Hill and her daughter Arianna Aliu were involved in a single-car accident on the A76 Friday night. Police have named the mother and daughter who were killed in a horrific crash in East Ayrshire last night.
Rebecca Hill and her daughter, Arianna Aliu, were involved in a single-car accident on the A76 near the junction with the B713, between Catrine and Auchinleck, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The six-year-old daughter was pronounced dead at the spot, and her 32-year-old mother was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she died shortly after.
Emergency services responded to the crash, which involved a white VW Passat, and the road was stopped for around seven hours to allow for investigation. Inspector Kenny Malaney stated, “Our sympathies are with everyone affected by this awful occurrence during this exceedingly trying time. Rebecca and Arianna’s family is receiving assistance from specialist cops.
“We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to aid and called the emergency services.
“Extensive investigations are underway to determine what happened, and we are asking anyone who observed the incident or was in the area at the time to contact us.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has dashcam film showing the Passat prior.
