Schumacher names reason for Red Bull departures: ‘But not because of that’

Ralf Schumacher was previously critical of Red Bull team principal Christian Horner in recent moths, and stated that it would be better for the team if the Briton left, to fix their issues. While Horner is not going anywhere, he could now count on some support from the German, when the former driver talked about important figures leaving the team.

In recent moths, under Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley and recently Will Courtenay all have announced they will leave Red Bull Racing. It was suggested that is because they were no longer on the same page as Horner. Moreover, it was also said that some members of the team were annoyed by how Horner’s earlier case of alleged transgressive behaviour was handled. On the other hand, former driver Ralf Schumacher thinks otherwise, he told Formel1.de.

Schumacher thinks different reasons caused Red Bull departures

“No I don’t think thats due to the Horner case, I think thats because when people work together for such a long time, they will eventually want to better their positions and sometimes they then get offers, finacially interesting offers, and then look for something new. So I wouldn’t connect that to the Horner situation,” Schumachar began.

The German has previously criticised the way Horner leads his team, and he can imagine it is not easy to work under the Briton. “You hear that, apparently, Christian isn’t an easy boss, but who really is in Formula One?”, Schumacher concluded on the other hand.
