The Utah Jazz waived three players following Monday’s game. The Utah Jazz played a preseason game against the Houston Rockets on Monday evening in Salt Lake City.
The Jazz won with a score of 122-113. Following the game (on Tuesday), the Jazz announced that three players had been released.
According to The Utah Jazz, “We have waived Max Abmas, Taevion Kinsey, and Isaiah Wong.” Last season, Kinsey played in the G League for the Salt Lake City Stars.
In 34 regular-season games, he averaged 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 59.9% from the field and 51.1% from three.
Abmas played his final season of college basketball with the Texas Longhorns.
In 34 games, he averaged 16.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, shooting 42.5% from the field and 36.2% from three. Finally, Wong appeared in one NBA game with the Indiana Pacers last season.
He scored two points in four minutes of play time.
All three players are anticipated to start the season with the Salt Lake City Stars. The Jazz will play four more preseason games, against the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers.
The 2024-25 NBA regular season will begin on October 23 when they host Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in Salt Lake City.
Last season, the Jazz finished 31-51, ranking 12th in the Western Conference.
They have missed the NBA playoffs in each of the last two seasons.
