Alan Shearer shares Ipswich Town v Everton prediction with one near certainty

Alan Shearer believes Everton will win their Premier League match against Ipswich Town on Saturday (19 October).

Sean Dyche had a three-match unbeaten streak in the league before the international break and will take his team to Portman Road looking for his first win away from home this season. In his Premier League predictions for The Metro [18 October], ex-Newcastle United striker Shearer says the Blues will win, although he doesn’t expect many goals.

He stated: “This is already a significant game for both clubs in terms of where they want to be at the conclusion of the season. Both managers will see this as a good opportunity to get some

Points on the board. “I’m not sure if we’ll see a load of goals in this one, so I’m going to go for an away win for Everton, because I think they’ll be dangerous from set pieces, which could be the difference on the day.”

Everton face a tough Ipswich Town match at Portman Road.
The Blues have only earned one point on the road this season, a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, and the game against newly promoted Ipswich will be anything but easy. Kieran McKenna has made his Ipswich team difficult to beat at home. Only Liverpool has left Suffolk with all three points this season, with Fulham and Aston Villa sharing the spoils. Everton will have to perform at their best. The teams are separated by one point and one league position heading into the encounter, and if all goes as planned, the Toffees may finish the weekend five points clear of the relegation zone. However, Jarrad Branthwaite is racing against the clock to be certified match-fit for the weekend, and injury issues elsewhere may force Ashley Young to play right-back, which no Evertonian wants to see following his early season displays.Alan Shearer makes new Ipswich Town v Everton prediction

The Blues have a great opportunity to build on their momentum from before the international break, and if they win in Suffolk, they might go on a fantastic run of form in the following weeks.

Dyche appears to be battling for his job at Goodison Park this season, and the manager cannot afford to lose any more Premier League points if he is to persuade prospective owner Dan Friedkin to keep him in charge.
