Zach Mitchell, a teenage Charlton Athletic defender, has signed a deal that will keep him with the club until 2027.
The Addicks also have the option to extend the 19-year-old’s contract by another year.
Mitchell has played 13 games, six of which have been in League One, since making his debut nearly two years ago.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Colchester United in League Two, where he scored twice in 29 games.
“Zach has really impressed me since day one of pre-season,” Charlton boss Nathan Jones told the club’s official website.
“We had possibilities to send him out on loan, but we thought his growth was complete, and he’s been fantastic.
“What we’ve got to do now is make sure he keeps moving forward.”
