One Sheffield Wednesday player is expected to return for the match against Swansea City on Tuesday evening.

The Owls lost 2-0 to Burnley, who are near the top of the Championship. While Danny Rohl’s side did not put up a bad effort, they were undone by a significant defensive error made by Yan Valery, who alternated between the back three positions.

There were significant concerns going forward, as out-of-form Owls striker Ike Ugbo unable to convert a header to give his team the lead in the first half, while Olaf Kobacki and Djeidi Gassama struggled to make any meaningful impression either side of the Canadian international.

“He’ll train tomorrow and is available against Swansea. That is the information I have at the moment.

What is crucial is that we use the two training sessions; with the quick turnaround, there isn’t much training, but we have everything ready.

“Then we’ll put the best 11 on the field, and we know there’s always a bench that can maintain the quality while increasing the intensity. This is wonderful to know; it is what we need, and it will be a test this week with Tuesday and Friday games.”

Danny Rohl will be grateful for the boost in offensive options.
Sheffield Wednesday have just been below standard on the attacking front, with no single player up to this point in the 2024/25 Championship season proving to be a significant asset to Rohl’s team in terms of goalscoring output.

While the ‘great’ talent has not consistently performed at his best this season, he will undoubtedly help to stoke the flame in the Wednesday attack.

Windass is Sheffield Wednesday’s joint-top scorer, alongside club captain Barry Bannan, both of whom have two goals.
