Both teams’ injury bulletins involve rotating players. The Utah Jazz open the 2024-25 NBA season at home against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Utah will not open the season with a clean injury report. Guard Isaiah Collier and forward Johnny Juzang are both missing for the opening. The Jazz’s key rotations should not change dramatically from the preseason. Prior to his hamstring injury, Collier served as Utah’s backup point guard for the most of the exhibition games. The 29th overall pick from USC excelled as a facilitator, averaging 4.25 assists over four games. Patty Mills, Utah’s seasoned off-
season signing, will most likely fill Collier’s minutes. The Jazz have yet to provide a timeline for Collier’s comeback.
Juzang, who shot over 50% from three in limited preseason play, remained outside of Utah’s usual preseason rotation. This offseason, the third-year player from UCLA inked a contract with the Jazz that is completely guaranteed. Juzang’s return date has not been provided.
For Memphis, the season will begin with a more complete injury report. Jaren Jackson Jr., GG Jackson, Luke Kennard, Cam Spencer, and Vince Williams Jr. are all out on Wednesday.
