Carlos Sainz has stated that there are some “good circuits” coming up that might see Ferrari pull away from McLaren and Red Bull, similar to what happened at the United States Grand Prix last week. They scored their first 1-2 in the United States since 2006 at the Circuit of the Americas. But the Spaniard believes more will come in the final five races of the 2024 season. The Mexican, Brazilian, Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix mark the end of Formula One’s longest season ever, with the final two sprint races taking place in Brazil and Qatar. After Ferrari’s superb performance in Austin, Texas, they narrowed the lead in the constructors’ title to only 48 points. Behind McLaren in first place. The pace of the Prancing Horse is really exciting to watch, and few people expect the Italian team to finish 1-2. However, Charles Leclerc’s third win of the season demonstrated how strong a finish they might achieve, and that the constructors’ title may not be out of reach if they can maintain that pace in some of the remaining races. Sainz hopes Ferrari’s pace will “show itself again.”
Which of the remaining tracks will Ferrari and their new improvements excel at? Sainz stated: “If I had to bet, Mexico and Vegas are good tracks based on last year; I’m basing myself a little on last year. This year, everything
It appears a little different. I believe Qatar will be a nightmare track for us, and I would have to stake my money on that.” The Spaniard is unsure how the SF-24 will perform in the season finale in Abu Dhabi. I’m not sure what we’ll achieve in Abu Dhabi, but we’ll see. I just hope this pace returns near the conclusion of the season and provides me another chance to compete.”
