Mark Richt hosts second annual Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl

The Georgia football community gathered together on Wednesday night in support of former head coach Mark Richt for the second-annual Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl, a fundraiser for Parkinson’s and Chron’s research.

Both of these diseases are near and dear to Richt’s heart, as he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021, while his granddaughter, Jadyn, has been battling Crohn’s disease since she was diagnosed in 2015 as an infant.

The Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl has set a goal of raising $750,000, with all of the proceeds from the event going towards the University of Georgia’s Isakson Center for Neurological Disease Research.

Football players and coaches, both new and old, filled the bowling lanes as they stepped away from the football field and came together for a common cause. Richt was joined by head coach Kirby Smart and former coaches Ray Goff and Jim Donnan.. It’s not often that you have four Georgia head coaches within the same four walls.

Richt was also joined by several of his former players, including three time All-American defensive lineman David Pollack and star quarterbacks David Greene and Aaron Murray.

Many current members of the Georgia football team showed their support by participating in the bowling competition, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans at the event.

At the end of the day, it was Warren Brinson who took home the gold. The defensive lineman brought home the championship belt for the second year in a row, as he was also a part of the 2023 Chick-fil-A Dawg Bowl winning team.
