Real Madrid will face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening, hoping to reignite their lagging Champions League campaign.

Bayern Munich will be without Joao Palhinha for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, which could lead to Leon Goretzka starting in central midfield.

Palhinha is set to miss time with an adductor injury sustained while practicing with Portugal during the November international break, and Goretzka will start in midfield against Augsburg on Friday night.

Goretzka is expected to play against PSG again, while Konrad Laimer and Serge Gnabry should return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the team’s most recent Bundesliga match.

Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller are other attacking options, but head coach Vincent Kompany is anticipated to go with Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Gnabry, and Harry Kane as his front four.

Kane scored a triple trick against Augsburg on Friday night, giving him 20 goals in 17 club appearances across all competitions this season, including five in four Champions League games.

Aleksandar Pavlovic and Josip Stanisic have returned to training following recent injuries, while Hiroki Ito remains a long-term absentee for the Bundesliga giants.

Mathys Tel will also be checked after missing the game against Augsburg due to a knock, but Bayern have no new injury concerns, and Alphonso Davies will start again at left-back despite continued rumors about his future.
