Nottingham Forest confident of agreening Ola Aina deal – source

Nottinghan Forest are optimistic of completing a new contract with defender Ola Aina, according to Football Insider sources.

The 28-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.

He is in talks about renewing his contract at the City Ground, and club officials believe he has a decent chance of sta.

Aina has been an important player for Forest since joining the club last year (2023) on a one-year contract that was extended by another 12 months earlier this year.

He has defeated a slew of competitors in the right-back position to become the clear first-choice.The 40-cap Nigeria international can also play left-back, where he started the first three games of the season before Alex Moreno was signed.

Aina has started all 12 Premier League games this season and has only failed to complete 90 minutes twice.

Aina is likely to sign new Nottingham Forest agreement.
The former Chelsea player also scored once, in a 3-0 victory over West Ham earlier this month.

As things stand, he can speak with international teams about a pre-contract deal in January.

Aina has prior international experience, having played 113 games for Torino in Serie A during a five-year period.

Nottingham Forest are soaring high under Nuno Espirito Santo this season, sitting seventh in the league after 12 games.

The Midlands team has already scored 19 points and is 10 points ahead of the relegation zone.
