Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 1B, Toronto Blue Jays:
This would force the Reds to go against their traditional approach, but Guerrero Jr. may be the best fit for what the Reds require. He is an outstanding first baseman who could be slotted immediately into the middle of their lineup. He doesn’t strike out often, and he walks and gets on base while also hitting for power. Guerrero blasted 30 home runs this season, but he would have had 42 if he had played in Cincinnati. He would require the Reds to give up some of their top prospects, but with only one year remaining on his deal, his exact trade value is difficult to quantify. If the Reds were to figure out a lengthy A long-term deal with him would be one of the smartest moves they could make.
