JUST IN : The announcement of Michael Dugher’s as Board of Directors

Nottingham Forest is happy to announce Michael Dugher’s appointment to the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Former Member of Parliament. Michael Dugher is a business adviser and seasoned CEO who has led organizations in a number of industries, including three decades in government and public affairs.

During his seven years in the House of Commons, Michael held various key posts, including Shadow Secretary of State for the Department of Culture, Media, and Sport. Prior to his election to Parliament in 2010, Michael worked as a special adviser in a number of Whitehall ministries, notably as Chief Spokesman for then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown at 10 Downing Street.Labour divided over challenge to oust Corbyn after May elections

Michael has been CEO of industry bodies since leaving Parliament in 2017, and he served on the previous government’s Creative Industries Council. He is presently a director, chairman, and senior adviser to several significant publicly traded and multinational companies. He has served as a patron and trustee of various organizations and groups, and he is currently a member of the Tourism Alliance’s Advisory Council.

Michael, a Forest fan for almost 30 years, is a regular at the City Ground and has previously served as Patron and later Board member of the Nottingham Forest Community Trust. Michael graduated from the University of Nottingham and was recently given a Fellowship by the Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire).

His public relations competence, as well as his local knowledge and experience, fully complement our Board’s existing skills. He joins us at an exciting time, both on and off the field, and we look forward to working with him.

Michael Dugher responded to his appointment, saying: “As a huge Forest supporter, being invited to join the Board of the best football club on the planet is a huge honour and privilege. Thanks to our owners’ outstanding support and continuous devotion, these are exciting days for Nottingham Forest, as we return to the summit of English football. I understand how important the Club is to the local community, as well as to fans throughout the country and around the world. I aim to use my knowledge to assist the owners and Board in continuing to grow the Club.”
