The Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns will face off on the gridiron for the SEC Championship this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, with coach Kirby Smart’s team’s College Football Playoff aspirations potentially on the line. The No. 7 Bulldogs and No. 2 Longhorns both have national title hopes, as does Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, who made a surprising disclosure during a news conference that has fans buzzing on social media. Beck was questioned about his thoughts on this past Saturday’s Texas A&M vs. Texas game. His response surprised many social media users because he made an admission about the game that is uncommon among top college football players.
“With the way the schedule worked, you got to sit there and watch Texas-Texas A&M on Saturday night, uh, was there anything that you know, stood out to you maybe that was different that you picked up from watching Texas’ defense?” Beck was asked about his team’s upcoming opponent in the SEC championship game.
“I don’t watch football, so, uh…I know that sounds kinda crazy,” Beck responded. “But no, I don’t really enjoy watching football,” Beck stated, revealing that he prefers to examine football plays on film because the game itself is “not fun for (him).” Beck’s excellent intellect for the quarterback position will be put to the test on Saturday against the highly ranked Longhorns, who allowed only seven point
the Aggies of Texas A&M on Saturday in a hostile setting at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Beck’s Heisman chances have taken a hit this season, but he still finished Georgia’s regular season with 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, throwing for nearly 300 yards and five touchdowns while defeating Haynes King and the Yellow Jackets in an eight-overtime thriller this past Saturday.
