JUST IN : Jerry Jones Provides Devastating Update on Texas Linebacker

During Monday night’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys, a tragic fourth-quarter injury left fans across the NFL and college football ranks devastated.

DeMarvion Overshown, Dallas’ second-year linebacker who played college football for the Texas Longhorns, suffered a devastating injury. With 12:49 remaining in the game, Overshown’s right leg was rolled up in the center of a scrum on Chase Brown’s 2-yard run. Following the game, head coach Mike McCarthy described the injury as “serious,” and team owner Jerry Jones stated that he would require surgery on his right knee and may not return until 2026.

The injury is particularly sad for a few reasons. For starters, Overshown has had a fantastic season, ranking second on the team in tackles (90), second in sacks (5), leading the club in tackles for loss (8), and recording a pick-six on Thanksgiving. He was consistently one of Dallas’ few shining spots. The other major issue is that he missed his whole rookie season last year due to a torn ACL in his other knee, which occurred during the second preseason game.DeMarvion Overshown injury update: Dallas Cowboys star gets devastating news

The Cowboys selected Overshown in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft, with the 90th overall pick. He came at Texas as a five-star safety but found success when he switched to linebacker.

He was named First-Team All-Big 12 in 2022 after recording 96 tackles and four sacks.

While this is another setback in Overshown’s NFL career, at only 24 years old, he will undoubtedly have an opportunity to rebound.
