GOOD NEWS : Luke Hobson Breaks 200 Free & 4×200 Free World Records with Team USA

BUDAPEST – On Friday, Texas men’s swimmer Luke Hobson smashed two world records at the World Aquatics Short Course Championships.

Hobson, a two-time NCAA 200 freestyle champion, swam 1:38.91 for the first leg of the 4×200 free relay, breaking the world mark. His time, 1:39.37, broke Paul Biedermann’s 2009 SCM male world record. It is the first individual world record for a UT student-athlete since 2009, when Aaron Piersol smashed the 100 backstroke.

Hobson was joined by Carson Foster, Shaine Casas (Texas Pro), and Kieran Smith. Hobson has smashed three World Records at the Championships, including the 4×100 free earlier this week.

Foster and Casas Foster won the silver medal in the 400 free and Casas won the 200 IM, therefore they now have gold medals to their names.Luke Hobson Breaks 200 Free & 4x200 Free World Records with Team USA - University of Texas Athletics
