Mario Carver, a former Mississippi State wide receiver, has disclosed his transfer destination. The talented wide receiver entered the portal on December 9 and confirmed his commitment to Texas A&M on Tuesday via social media.
“Gig Em,” Carver remarked in a social media post that cited his news. The WR will have three years of eligibility remaining. In 2024, as a true freshman, Carver caught 17 catches for 368 yards and three touchdowns. Only three players had more catches and yards than Carver for the Bulldogs.
Carver excelled at Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, Alabama, before attending Starkville. The wideout was regarded as a 4-star prospect, and the 247Sports Composite rating placed Carver as the No. 49 receiver and No. 18 prospect.
out of Alabama in the 2024 class.
Carver received strong interest from Georgia, Arkansas, and Auburn before committing to MSU. He was one of the team’s 2024 prize winners, but now he is one of 24 Bulldogs who have already entered the portal. Carver is the fifth player to commit to the Aggies through the portal thus far. Fellow wide receiver Micah Hudson, quarterback Jacob Zeno, tight end Micah Riley, and cornerback Julian Humphrey have all committed to playing for the Aggies in 2025. Jabre Barber and Jahdae Walker’s eligibility runs out in 2024, thus the Aggies need WR depth.
The Aggies ended the 2024 season with an 8-4 record and will face the USC Trojans at the Las Vegas Bowl. On Friday, December 27
