On Tuesday evening, the transfer site revealed shocking news: Bill O’Brien has recruited Alabama quarterback Dylan Lonergan to move to Boston College. Lonergan, a redshirt freshman this season, was a 4-star recruit out of high school and comes from Snellville, Georgia. His play style complements the Bill O’Brien offense wonderfully. The 6’2″ quarterback possesses exceptional arm strength, stands tall in the pocket even while under duress, and takes excellent care of the ball. His high completion percentage and low INT numbers in high school are a wonderful sign for guy who could run a pro-style offense here at Boston College, especially since he was a successful player who led his high school team to several deep playoffs.
runs. He is not regarded as a dual threat, but he can improvise when necessary and rushed for multiple rushing touchdowns before to attending Alabama. Lonergan was trapped behind some talented players on the Crimson Tide squad and has only appeared on the field three times in college, completing 7/8 passes for 35 yards with no touchdowns or picks. O’Brien worked with Lonergan as Alabama’s offensive coordinator and apparently liked what he saw, so he brought him to the Heights.
Welcome to Boston College, Dylan!
