John Mousinho is sure that the funds will be made available to make the necessary changes to Pompey’s team during the transfer window.
And selling players who are not in the Blues’ first-team squad is not required to fund the activity that is critical to Mousinho’s side’s Championship fate this season. This is in terms of both the quality and experience needed to help Mousinho’s 25-man roster in the second half of the season. This also applies to finding new homes for Ben Stevenson and Tom Lowery, who were left in limbo for the first half of the season after not being picked to the senior squad.

Mousinho does not believe that transferring the duo will have a substantial impact on the business in the opposite direction in the new year. However, the Pompey manager believes the pair will find new homes, and he is confident that the club’s owners will provide the necessary financial backing to give the squad a chance of survival. Mousinho stated, ‘I don’t think it (selling Lowery and Stevenson) will make a significant effect.

‘There’s nothing coming across my door right now (in terms of interest), but I know Rich (Hughes) is handling that so we can focus on game preparations.
