The Scotsman reports that Leeds United is one of the clubs interested in signing Brighton attacker Evan Ferguson on loan.
Leeds will surely be looking for a new striker as concerns about their striking depth persist, and Ferguson is apparently on the Whites’ radar. Sunderland, along with Scottish giants Celtic, are said to be interested in the report (18 December).
TEAMtalk (16 December) reports that Premier League interest is also expected, with Leicester City and West Ham United understood to be interested, with Brighton willing to allow a loan leave.
Dor Turgeman has also been linked with an Elland Road move (Sport5) ahead of what is expected to be a hectic transfer window. The signing of a clinical striker could prove to be the difference for Leeds in their push for a Premier League return and Ferguson would fit that bill and more. His physical attributes matched with his goalscoring ability would be the perfect fit for the Whites with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph both failing to live up the required standards for a starting centre forward. It is certainly one of two key areas that must be addressed at Elland Road with the goalkeeping department another area that needs to be addressed with Illan Meslier potentially on his way out in January.
If Leeds can fix these two shortcomings in their team, their chances of promotion will improve dramatically.
In the coming weeks, all eyes will be on the January transfer market, which has the ability to determine who will be promoted to the Premier League this season.
In unrelated Leeds United news, the prerequisites for signing a Premier League player have been published.
