After falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13, the Cincinnati Bengals had a 4-8 record and appeared doomed to miss the AFC playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Since then, the Bengals have won three straight games and will attempt to extend that streak against the Denver Broncos on Saturday.
Despite their slow start, the Bengals are still in the playoff picture, but they will need wins over the next two weeks as well as help from other teams to make the playoffs.
Cincinnati continues to hunt for outside players that can help the Bengals become a better club.
On Tuesday, the franchise re-signed quarterback Logan Woodside to the practice squad.
Woodside has been with the Bengals several times in the last seven years.
Cincinnati originally selected Woodside in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft before waiving him a few months later.
Since September 2018, Woodside has spent time with the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Falcons.
He also appeared briefly for the now-defunct AAF, starting eight games with the San Antonio Commanders in 2019.
Woodside has been on an active roster for 13 NFL games since 2020, completing four of seven throws for 34 yards and one interception.
Woodside has also carried the football 14 times, for 10 yards. Woodside was on the Bengals’ active list for the last two games, where he backed up quarterback Joe Burrow.
