DONE DEAL: Luton town has agree on a deal of 20 years old Congo international.

Town agrees on deal for young Congo international.

The Hatters have reached an agreement to recruit highly rated centre-half Christ Makosso on January 1st, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old, who has three caps for his home Congo, joins Kenilworth Road for an unknown amount from Belgian second tier club RWD Molenbeek.

Makosso spent a year in Belgium after joining his previous team from French side Sochaux in January of last year.

He joined Sochaux in 2023 after being scouted in the Congo, and made his debut in France’s second tier in 2022/23.

His success resulted in him getting called up by his country for the first time in November 2023, and he has since gone on to beChrist Makosso joins the Hatters! - Luton Town FC

regular in their squad. His most recent cap came in an African Cup of Nations qualification against South Africa in October. Town manager Rob Edwards said of his newest signing: “Christ is a young and extremely athletic defender who has piqued the interest of the recruitment team, and we all believe he has a bright future ahead of him.”

“We’ll need to be patient as he continues to develop, but he’s an intriguing young player who fits into the style we want to play going forward. We’re looking forward to working with him.”
