Donovan Mitchell talked about LeBron James. Earlier this week, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 122-110.
Donovan Mitchell completed the game with 26 points, four rebounds, and four assists, shooting 8/20 from the field and 6/13 from three.
Following the game, the All-Star guard made a provocative statement regarding LeBron James, which received a lot of attention on social media.
Mitchell (via the NBA): “He has accomplished so much… The most important thing to me is that he is always there. No matter what. He’s forty years old and still doing this. There is an unwavering regard there… I’m hoping to recreate what he did. Bring the title to Cleveland… It has only been done once. “Hopefully, do it twice.”
Right now, the Cavs appear to be a contender for the 2025 title.
They are the Eastern Conference’s top seed (and the greatest club in the NBA) with a 29-4 record in 33 games.
In addition, the Cavs are now on an eight-game winning streak. Mitchell is in his third season with the team, having spent the first five years with the Utah Jazz.
He averages 23.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.5 steals a game, shooting 45.6% from the field and 41.5% from three-point range.
As for James, he remains one of the league’s greatest players.
The future Hall of Famer averages 23.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game, shooting 50.2% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
