GOOD NEWS : Jacksonville Jaguars predicted to hire top NFL coaching candidate

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired Doug Pederson with the idea that the former NFL quarterback would maximize Trevor Lawrence’s potential. After all, Pederson has won the Super Bowl both as a player and as a head coach.

However, Pederson has not been as successful as he was with the Philadelphia Eagles. After back-to-back nine-win seasons that appeared to put the Jaguars on the verge of a breakout season, Jacksonville has regressed to a four-win team with the regular season finale on Sunday.

The Jaguars’ recent problems under Pederson, along with the fact that he has failed to lead them to the playoffs, have some wondering if the team will make a coaching change this summer. One NFL insider recently went a step farther.

Furthermore, they expect to appoint one of the most sought-after coaches in the 2025 NFL hiring cycle.
Jacksonville Jaguars expected to hire Ben Johnson.
Ben Johnson, the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator, has been considered a potential head coaching possibility for several years. It was stunning when he passed down a chance to become a head coach last year, but Johnson is allegedly just waiting for the right opportunity to be in a position where he believes he can have a lot of success.Identifying top Jacksonville Jaguars coaching candidates to replace Doug Pederson in 2025

Could that approach lead him to coach the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025, assuming Doug Pederson leaves? Albert Breer, a Sports Illustrated NFL insider, appears to believe so. “I believe the Jacksonville Jaguars might be the Ben Johnson team. If they are, I believe Commander’s Assistant GM Lance Newmark is a name to watch. However, that is only an informed guess at this point. And, no, Khan cannot simply run it back. Despite having a former No. 1 overall pick in Trevor Lawrence, Coach Pederson has unable to transform the Jaguars’ offense into one that is unpredictable but dominant. However, we’ve previously seen what Johnson can achieve with another former No. 1 choice, who most would say has less desirable characteristics than Trevor Lawrence.

Could Did Johnson assist the one-time Pro Bowl quarterback become the superstar everyone expected him to be after graduating from Clemson? After three years of trial and error with Pederson, it might be worth exploring what’s behind Door No. 2, especially if it means the opportunity to acquire a top coordinator like Johnson.
