The Georgia Bulldogs are already preparing for the 2018 NCAA football season, and Kirby Smart has acknowledged that he will be missing a key defensive player. The Georgia Bulldogs had a successful NCAAF regular season, but their upset loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl destroyed any title dreams for Kirby Smart’s club. With the goal of improving next season, the coach is aware that he will be missing a crucial player on defense.

Damon Wilson II has been one of the Bulldogs’ defensive standouts over the last two years. To the astonishment of both fans and critics, he has decided to make a move and will relocate to Missouri for the next stage of his career. College Football Insider Hayes Fawcett confirmed the news on his official X (previously Twitter) account @Hayesfawcett3, where he declared the edge rusher’s commitment to the Tigers program. Damon Wilson has appeared in 26 games during two seasons with the Georgia program. During that time, he had 26 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Unfortunately, Wilson’s departure to Missouri isn’t the only obstacle Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs will suffer during the 2018 College Football season. In recent hours, it was revealed that one of his primary offensive weapons has declared for the forthcoming draft. Trevor Etienne, a talented running back, revealed on social media that he wants to continue his career in the NFL and will not return under Smart’s guidance next season.
