Brad Marchand put the record straight at a critical point in the Boston Bruins’ NHL season, warning Joe Sacco and the rest of his teammates about the team’s chances in the league. After winning two consecutive games, the Boston Bruins are on a roll and hope to keep it going throughout the NHL season. Captain Brad Marchand recognizes that this is a critical point in the current season and has delivered a difficult message to the rest of his teammates, including interim coach Joe Sacco.
The recent two victories over the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning halted a poor stretch of one win in eight games and a six-game losing streak. The mid-season is a time
for the Bruins to demonstrate if they have what it takes to compete for the big things this season. Amidst speculations of a squad shakeup and low expectations for the team’s winter arrivals, Marchand raised his voice to emphasize that Boston has plenty of space for development, especially given that Sacco’s team is currently fourth in the Atlantic Division.
Marchand warns coach Sacco and the rest of the Bruins. “There are quite high expectations in this organization. Every year, we are expected to perform and accomplish our jobs, as well as compete for the Cup. And if we’re not going to achieve that, then changes will be made so the team does compete for a Cup,” Marchand threatened Sacco and others. of his colleagues, according to NESN.com. His remarks are forceful: if there are defeats, there will be reforms. “We are conscious of our current predicament. We realize where the roads in front of us lead. We acknowledge that we haven’t performed as well as we should have, and there are consequences for that,” Marchand said. Marchand also shared his thoughts about the trade deadline.
March is the deadline for deals to bolster the roster, but Marchand wants the Bruins to avoid speculating during that period. “We’re not in a horrible situation. Our main issue is that we are unable to look forward. There is too much that can happen between now and (the deadline). We need to take it day by day. Perform a good stretch. You look at some teams in the past that were in comparable situations to ours, and they went to the Finals and won championships,” he remarked.
