The Georgia Bulldogs still have a long ways to go. However, there are some encouraging signs for the program in terms of securing the top talent in the 2026 recruiting class. On3’s Pete Nakos reported Tuesday that the Bulldogs “have emerged” as one of the three key colleges to watch in the recruitment of five-star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell. The other two teams are the Miami Hurricanes and Oregon Ducks. “The 6-foot-7.5, 305-pound offensive tackle from Nixa (Missouri) recently took unofficial visits to Michigan and Ohio State, but the trio of Georgia, Miami and Oregon all have momentum entering official visit season,” Nakos told ESPN. Cantwell is widely regarded as the most promising prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.
The offensive tackle is No. 1 on On3’s rankings and the top recruit of the class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. As the No. 1 recruit, Cantwell might sign the highest NIL deal of any talent in the next recruiting class “Cantwell’s deal, which has yet to be signed or fully negotiated, is expected to be in the $1.5 million range, sources have indicated to On3,” according to Nakos.

According to Nakos, Cantwell has visited Georgia four times. This spring, the offensive tackle plans to travel to Athens, Georgia, for an official visit. Cantwell will also make formal visits to Miami and Oregon, as well as the Missouri Tigers and Oregon Ducks.
