It does not look good after 2025, either. The NFL Draft has concluded, and the Miami Dolphins have made it clear that they want to get harder, smarter, and more physical.
Miami did not send any strong messages to Jalen Ramsey with its draft decisions. Although he is still likely to leave South Florida this year, they were unable to move him during the draft. Still, with their draft picks, they sent other messages to the current roster that cannot be ignored. The Dolphins addressed the roster’s flaws, therefore they did not make any pronouncements about other players. However, there is a message: Miami wants football players, and if you are not on board, you won’t.

Liam Eichenberg, OL
Liam Eichenberg may have returned to the roster, but trading up for Jonah Savaiinaea sends a strong message that he will not be the starter. Eichenberg’s inconsistency was enough for the Dolphins to move him, as he can theoretically play three positions on the line.
Cam Smith, CB Jason Marshall was the first new addition to the secondary, and he will contend for playing time right away. The Dolphins believe Storm Duck and Cam Smith will battle for one starting spot, but Marshall’s arrival sends a message to Smith that the Dolphins are not satisfied with his performance. Jaylen Wright is another player who could be called upon to step up in 2025. Miami loved what they saw in him. This prompted them to surrender a 2025 third-round pick to take him last year. However, with the addition of Ollie Gordon, Wright’s already modest touches may be further reduced.
