The NFL waited until Monday to declare that it would punish a Kansas City Chiefs player for an illegal play in the team’s Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL did not announce a sanction on Saturday.
According to Michael David Smith of NBC Sports, the league announces sanctions for the previous week’s play on Saturday. The league did not issue an announcement on Saturday. Analysts predicted that Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed would face fines for Super Bowl offenses.

Smith said that the NFL fined Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton up to $8,000 for a horse-collar tackle during Super Bowl LVIII.

Bolton was called for a horse-collar tackle on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in the second quarter of the game. And now the NFL has confirmed that Bolton has been fined $8,238 for the violation.
