Iowa’s Lisa Bluder rips NCAA as Caitlin Clark surpasses Lynette Woodard for major college scoring record
Caitlin Clark reached another milestone on her march to the top of the scoring lists Wednesday.
The Iowa sharpshooter scored 33 points in the Hawkeyes’ 108-60 victory over Minnesota. Clark broke former Kansas great Lynette Woodard’s major college scoring record with 3,650 points.
Iowa coach Lisa Bluder praised Clark’s accomplishment but criticized the NCAA for failing to recognize Woodard’s record as the best scorer in women’s collegiate basketball. Woodard played for the Kansas Jayhawks during the AIAW period, before the NCAA began certifying women’s basketball.
