LATEST NEWS : Mark Bowen issues message to Reading FC fans

Reading FC’s head of football operations, Mark Bowen, sent a message to fans as the team enters the final ten games of its League One season.

Ruben Selles’ side is presently in 16th place with 39 points after winning away at Carlisle United just days after receiving a two-point deduction.

The Royals have now lost six points this season and 18 since Dai Yongge took over the team in 2017.

Bowen issued a message to the Royals fans. He said: “Another hugely difficult week for the club, the players, the staff and also for you, our fantastic fans, has just passed.

“What never ceases to amaze me is the uncompromising support you always give us.

“I feel now is the perfect time to say a heartfelt thanks to you all, from Ruben, the players and myself.
“And with ten games to go, in order to secure our League One status, that TOGETHERNESS which I’m sure we can all feel is going to be of big significance.”

Bowen also gave an update on the takeover process and believes the sale of the club is ‘progressing’.

He continued: “The sale of the Club is progressing, with the help and expertise of Nigel Howe.

“There has been an extremely high volume of inquiries, with some focusing on the Club’s real estate assets, particularly the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park.”

“While every proposal is reviewed, Nigel and Mr Dai’s ultimate goal is to sell all assets and the Club simultaneously, therefore we must be patient and enable the proper process to be followed. I know Nigel keeps STAR informed on a frequent basis, and I appreciate their help with our communication.

“This fantastic club has 152 years of history, and I am confident that we can all contribute significantly to its further success.

“So I say again, with just ten games remaining a BIG THANK YOU to ALL of our supporters.”

“Keep doing what you’re doing.”
