BREAKING NEWS : Swindon Town owner Clem Morfuni has been fined £10,000 by IDC

An independent disciplinary commission fined Swindon Town owner Clem Morfuni £10,000 for failing to notify the transfer of club shares.

Morfuni was charged in December with failing to inform the club’s management about the transfer of a 17.1% stake to Mrs Hollie Kiely in September 2022.

This violated English Football League regulations.

“The club and Mr Morfuni have admitted the charges,” the EFL stated.

“The latter (took) full responsibility for the breach.”

Swindon also neglected to “update the official club website for public record”.

While it was agreed that Swindon had experienced a “inadvertent breach” as a result of Morfuni’s administration blunder, the League Two team was still reprimanded and warned about its future behavior.

Swindon announced on its website that it will make no further comments at this time.

Morfuni, an Australian businessman, became the dominant stakeholder in July 2021.
