Rayhaan Tulloch met with the media for the first time after signing a short-term contract till the conclusion of the 2023/24 season to discuss his move to the club and his career thus far.

The 23-year-old’s move to Salop was confirmed on Saturday, just before our game against Port Vale, in which Town earned three valuable points.

Rayhaan, an attacking footballer, spent his whole career at West Bromwich Albion, beginning when he was eight years old and ending with his departure in January.

Rayhaan has loan periods at Doncaster Rovers, Rochdale, Bradford City, and Dundalk, and he has represented England at youth level.

Speaking to BBC Radio Shropshire, Town’s newest signing discussed his new contract and career to date, as well as his thoughts on the weekend’s win and our upcoming home games against Exeter City and Carlisle United.

On Being A Shrewsbury Town Player:

“I am looking forward to it. Obviously, I came here a few weeks ago to train with the boys, and it’s been great.

“It’s a good bunch, and they’ve been extremely kind to me.

“I’m excited; it’s a terrific opportunity. Obviously, I’ve just left my former club, where I’d been for a long, but this is a new beginning, and I’m looking forward to it.

Upon entering and having to impress very quickly:

“It is different. It’s challenging, but also exhilarating.

“I was very excited when I learned about the possibility.

Regarding his initial impressions of the club:

“It’s lovely; everyone has welcomed me warmly, and it’s a terrific bunch. The banter is also amazing, which is a plus!

On Being on the Bench on Saturday:

“It was a good win, and the squad played very well. I’d describe it as a positive performance.

“Now we just need to kick on and enjoy the match tomorrow.”

HIS GOALS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON:

“I want to get as many minutes as possible and help the team win as many games as possible.”

“I believe that the better you perform, the better it is for you, but also for the team, because it is ultimately a team sport.

“That’s the main thing, helping the team.”

ON HIS TIME IN WEST BROM:

“It was good; I met a lot of great folks.

“I’ve been there since I was around eight years old, and all of my pals are from there, so it has a special place in my heart.

“I’m just looking forward to moving on to my next chapter.”

During his time as an England youth international:

“It was good.” Obviously, many of the players I played with back then are now in the Premier League, which is everyone’s aim.

“Hopefully I can get there one day.”

“Some of them were challenging. I didn’t always get to play as much as I wanted, but that’s the nature of football.

“You just need to move on and do what you need to do to get to the next level.”

ON HIS SPELL IN DUNDALK:

“A fantastic club with a lot of lovely people.

“It was a different experience playing through the summer but it was good, very good.”

HIS TIME AT BRADFORD EARLIER THIS SEASON:

“It was good, too. I’ve been fortunate to be in good company wherever I’ve gone.”

FOR THIS WEEK’S TWO HOME GAMES:

“We have a terrific opportunity this week to go up the table.

“I think Exeter are just above us in the table so a win puts us above them so it’s another good opportunity for us to achieve what we want to achieve.”

WHAT TOWN FANS SHOULD EXPECT FROM HIM:

“Hopefully, goals! I want to be exciting and get folks out of their chairs.

“I like to play anywhere in attack, left-wing, right-wing, as a ten, whichever.”
