DONE DEAL : Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Former FSU Football National Champion on a two-year

The former Seminole is returning to the state of Florida.The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with former Florida State defensive back Ronald Darby on a two-year contract worth up to $10 million, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. Darby spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens.
Jacksonville will be Darby’s sixth team in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills selected him as the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he finished second in the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting behind Marcus Peters. After two seasons there, he was dealt to the Philadelphia Eagles for Jordan Matthews is a wide receiver and a 2018 third-round pick. He won a Super Bowl in his first year in Philadelphia, his only one thus far, and re-signed with the Eagles for one year in 2019.
Following the 2019 season, Darby began to move around the league. He signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the now-defunct Washington Commanders, a three-year, $30 million contract with the Denver Broncos but was released after only 16 games, and a one-year, $1.7 million contract with the Ravens this year after they suffered defensive backfield injuries. He has eight interceptions in his NFL career, but has not had one since 2019 with the Eagles.

Darby will now return to the place where he played college football to establish himself with the Jaguars. He originally signed with FSU as a 5-star prospect in the 2012 class from Oxon Hill, Maryland. Darby played three seasons at Florida State from 2012 to 2014, totaling 78 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 16 pass deflections. He was a key member of Florida State’s powerful secondary that helped the team win the national championship in 2013, alongside Lamarcus Joyner, Jalen Ramsey, and PJ Williams, all of whom went on to have successful NFL careers.
