The Iowa women’s basketball program continues to receive positive news. The Hawkeyes learned about a significant addition on Tuesday. California guard Addie Deal, one of the top recruits in the 2025 class, has revealed her verbal commitment. She became the highest-rated Iowa recruit since Caitlin Clark (No. 4, ’20), ranking 12th in the HoopGurlz national rankings. The Hawkeyes earned their third Big Ten Tournament title in a straight on Sunday. Clark, the anticipated No. 2 pick in next month’s WNBA Draft, received MVP honors for the third consecutive year.

On March 3rd, Deal went to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to watch Iowa’s final regular-season game. She saw Clark surpass Pete Maravich for the #1 spot on the NCAA’s all-time scoring chart. If you watch Deal’s video highlights, you’ll notice she has characteristics with Clark. She’s a quick passer with long shooting range.
