Loris Karius will not be a Newcastle United player beyond this season.
According to a recent rumor from Football Insider, the German goalkeeper will depart Newcastle this summer.
Eddie Howe has refused to offer the 30-year-old a new contract at St. James’ Park, despite the fact that his current agreement expires in June.
Newcastle United will not renew Loris Karius’ contract.
Karius was signed as a cost-effective emergency keeper following Nick Pope’s long-term shoulder injury, and while he hasn’t had much to do, his only two games have been disappointing.
Karius was tasked with stopping Manchester United in last season’s Carabao Cup final, but the Magpies lost 2-0 at Wembley. The German’s lone other appearance came away to Arsenal last month, which Newcastle lost 4-1.
However, Karius is not the only one who has flattered to deceive. Newcastle have had a difficult season as a whole, and Howe is now planning to restructure his team in preparation for next season. Unfortunately for Karius, the German is not anticipated to make the roster and will become a free agent for the second time in as many years.
