Allan Saint-Maximin’s four-year contract with Newcastle United expired last month. Saint-Maximin was a fan favorite who, particularly during his first two seasons at the club, would win games and points on his own while the club battled relegation. Bruce’s career as manager at St James’ Park ended in October 2021, leaving the Magpies in the relegation zone following a winless start to the season. Saint-Maximin, who published a moving message on his social media accounts, was among those who praised Bruce for his efforts at the club.
