With the first wave of free agency and the NFL Draft behind them, the new era of Commanders football has begun. The Commanders can still improve with what is left on the free agent market; based on their draft class, they may have landed one of the more elite-level tight ends, former Kansas State Wildcat Ben Sinnott, who will help the offense create more versatility outside of their other skill positions.
After a strong last two seasons with the Wildcats that saw him put up a total of 10 touchdowns, Sinnott likely will fit more into the F tight end role because he won’t be called upon to do blocking and possesses a unique ability to separate from
defenders and is an effective route runner, allowing him to stretch the field at all three levels. Following his arrival in the nation’s capital, Sinnott met with the media, explaining what he could add to the Commanders’ NFL roster. “I just think a versatile weapon that’s going to make plays every time he touches the ball,” Sinnott said when asked what he believes he can offer Washington.
“One who will do what he needs to do in the run game while also being a big athlete and creating mismatches in the pass game.” So, I’m excited to show the Commanders fans what I can do and what sort of connection Jayden and I will have. “I believe it is endless. “I can do anything,” Sinnott continued. “With my alignments and what [Kansas State] trusted me with. I believe Coach Kingsbury will have a lot of fun with what he can do and where he can put me. So I’m excited. I’m extremely excited to be a part of this system.”
