Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been linked with a move to Fratton Park, and a loan agreement for Crystal Palace would demonstrate they serious business. Abu Kamara shone at Fratton Park while on loan from Norwich City, scoring 18 goals in what proved to be a breakout season for the youthful talent.

Rak-Sakyi had already caught the eye with an EFL loan in the 2022/23 season, when he starred for Charlton Athletic in League One, scoring 23 goals while still a teenager.
It had become commonplace at The Valley for the winger to cut in from the flank and fire an unstoppable shot into either corner, as well as to lay the ball on a plate for a teammate to score after taking defenders out of the game with his quick feet.
The only thing faster than his feet is his brains, with his decision-making and ability to confuse defences making him a player with the potential to have a successful career in the game, with an EFL loan set to benefit him greatly in the coming season.
The young star was kept at Selhurst Park for the most recent season, but injuries limited him to just six Premier League appearances for the Eagles in the early part of the campaign, as well as no game time under new manager Oliver Glasner, making it a bit of a struggle – and game time is unlikely next season either.
A hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur for the Palace development side last month shows that the winger is back to his best, but he needs regular minutes to reach his full potential in the future.
Portsmouth should make a move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, given Abu Kamara’s likely future with Norwich City.
In a perfect scenario, Pompey would like to re-sign Kamara for another season at Fratton Park, but parent club Norwich must be considering giving the tricky forward playing time at Carrow Road in the near future.
With a sensational season under his belt, Kamara would feel badly done by if he doesn’t get rewarded with an opportunity in the first squad for the Norfolk side the following season, having proven his abilities throughout
in the last twelve months. With David Wagner’s sacking last week, Kamara will have a new boss to impress in East Anglia over the summer, and a fresh start could be beneficial as he seeks to establish his claim alongside Jon Rowe, Gabriel Sara, and Borja Sainz.
After the 23/24 season, the Pompey loanee had not totally ruled out a return to Fratton Park in the future.
He stated: “I believed Pompey was capable of attaining this feat, and seeing it become a reality is a dream come true for me.
“It’s my first loan, a really effective loan with champions. You cannot ask for more.
“I’m not the type of person who looks ahead; instead, I prefer to take things as they come and see what happens.
“My goal is to get into the first team at Norwich, but I would absolutely like to return since I enjoy life at Pompey.
“I felt really comfortable during my time at the club, but that isn’t down to me, we’ll have to see what the summer holds.”
Although Pompey fans would want nothing more than a reunion with their temporary leader, contingency preparations must be put in place, and a move for Rak-Sakyi would help to ease the pain if Kamara remains.
This summer, the location will be Carrow Road. With both players capable of gliding across the pitch, leaving defenders in their wake, a move for the Crystal Palace man would make perfect sense, with Mousinho already having a successful blueprint in place, and a like-for-like replacement assisting with the transition to the Championship.
As far as additions go, it would demonstrate ambition from the League One Champions and establish they mean business on their return to the second division; with sides aware that they would need to be on top of their game to emerge from Fratton Park with a result.
