Midfielder extends his stay with Swindon Town.
Nnamdi Ofoborh, a Swindon Town midfielder, has agreed to a new deal with the club, subject to EFL sanction.
The 24-year-old appeared in every Sky Bet League Two game after signing as a free agent in March, and he will remain at the County Ground for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.
The 24-year-old started his career at AFC Bournemouth and had a successful two-year stint with the club’s U18s, captaining them in his second year and being voted the Cherries’ Young Player of the Season in 2017-18.
Ofoborh then went on to have a successful loan spell with League One side Wycombe Wanderers in 2019-20, where he helped the club gain promotion from the third tier to the Championship while also scoring the season’s winning goal against Fleetwood in their semi-final first leg.
After attaining international recognition with Nigeria U20s, he competed in the 2019 Under-20 World Cup finals in Poland, appearing three times.
After playing against Qatar U20s and Ukraine U20s, the Flying Eagles went to the knockout stage against Senegal, where Ofoborh started the round of 16 match before losing 2-1.
After this, the midfielder spent two years with Scottish giants.
Rangers, before leaving the club at the start of last season, and the midfielder has made quite an impression since joining Swindon a few months ago, particularly his man-of-the-match performance against Barrow in April.
Nnamdi Ofoborh said after signing a new deal with Swindon: “I’m thankful to Jesus Christ for this opportunity, these are things that I’ve prayed for, and I’m just grateful for the club to give me this platform and home to become mine.”
“Based on last season, I intend to help the team and squad progress as much as possible. Last season’s fans were outstanding, especially the away supporters. We need to give the fans a lot more to rejoice about, and that is my plan.”
“Next season is going to be all about a new book, a new chapter, and with the new faces joining us at the club alongside the new manager, we can use this to push us in the right direction next season.”
