REPORT: League One transfer round-up with Huddersfield Town boss Michael Duff pushing for more signings

The Terriers were one of the most busy sides in the market last week, but numerous other League One clubs also used the opportunity to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.

We took a look at the other teams in the division that have made recent transfers.Lincoln City had four new arrivals last week. The Imps signed JJ McKiernan from Morecambe and Zach Jeacock after he left Birmingham City, as well as Rob Street from Cheltenham Town for an undisclosed fee.Tendayi Darikwa  has also signed for Apollon Limassol.

Northampton Town made their first moves of the window last week, signing four new players. James Wilson and Nik Tzanev arrived from Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon, respectively, while Callum Morton returned to the Cobblers for a second loan term from Salford City. Cameron McGeehan has also been signed from Colchester United.

Like Town, a number of other clubs have made three signings in the last week.

Birmingham City made a statement by signing last season’s League One top goalscorer Alfie May from Charlton Athletic for a reported £775,000, with the Blues said to have beaten Town to his signature. The other demoted club also signed Bailey Peacock-Farrell from Burnley for an undisclosed price. Emil Hansson, who previously played for Dutch club Heracles Almelo, has joined the Blues.

Bristol Rovers also continued their proactive start to the summer by signing Joel Senior and Taylor Moore from Morecambe and Valenciennes, paying fees for both, while Michael Forbes signed on loan from West Ham. These transactions brought the total number of signings during the transfer window to eight.

Charlton Athletic made up for May’s departure by signing two strikers: Matty Godden and Gassan Ahadme from Coventry City and Ipswich Town, respectively, for unknown sums, and Greg Docherty on a free transfer from Hull City.

Exeter City signed Jay Bird and Ryan Woods on free transfers from Arbroath and Hull, respectively, and spent an undisclosed price to obtain Ed Francis from Gateshead.

Wycombe Wanderers have also signed three players on free transfers: Tyreeq Bakinson from Sheffield Wednesday and Dan Udoh from Shrewsbury Town. In addition, the Chairboys paid MK Dons an unknown amount to bring in Daniel Harvie.

Over the last week, several teams added two new players to their rosters.

Cambridge United’s total number of recruits this window has doubled to four with two new arrivals. Shayne Lavery was brought in after leaving Blackpool, while Vicente Reyes has joined on a season-long loan from Norwich City.

Leyton Orient took Charlie Kelman on loan from QPR and paid Charlton an undisclosed price to sign Diallang Jaiyesimi, while Peterborough United

Also paid payments to sign Rio Adebisi and Cian Hayes from Crewe Alexandra and Fleetwood Town, respectively. Stockport County also signed Sam Hughes and Lewis Fiorini from Burton Albion and Manchester City, bringing their total to six new players.

This week, four sides made only one addition. Barnsley signed Marc Roberts on a free transfer from Birmingham, while Burton added Dylan Williams on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Stevenage and Wrexham have paid undisclosed amounts to sign Daniel Phillips from St Johnstone and Lewis Brunt from Leicester City.
